ABOUT
US
Our
current community partners include CAN-ACT,
Canyon Dance Academy, Evenstart, and University of Idaho 4H
program.
We
are attempting to raise the bar for our community and our youth by
providing a facility that is inspiring to look at and to be in. We
must set our standards high in curriculum, equipment and resources
so that we can challenge young people to become the best they can
be for they are the future. Therefore, we must be the best that we
can be!
The Center offers Caldwell and
surrounding area residents a
safe place to learn and be introduced to creative endeavors. Our
teachers are subject-qualified and use only the highest
professional standards. These workshops are providing
opportunities to explore and develop skills, talents and hobbies.
Students are learning to make creative use of their time.
The
Center is comprised of a complex of three buildings located at 7th
Avenue and Everett St. in Caldwell.
The historical building was constructed in 1925
and designed by the eminent Boise-based architectural firm,
Tourtelotte and Hummel, who also designed the Idaho State Capitol,
the former Ada count courthouse, Emmanuel Methodist church in Hyde
Park and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Boise, among many other
historic landmarks in southwest idaho. The old church building is
listed on the national Register of historic Places in Idaho.
When
it was deconsecrated a few years ago, the property was purchased
by a Boise citizen. It is currently leased to the The Center for
the Arts (The Center), which was established in 2005 as a
501(c3)
non-profit organization. Our goal is to renovate the old church
building into a performing art theater.
